Using up a plethora of tapestry wool I thrifted, I knit stripes of funky retro tapestry wools alternating with a plain brown wool. On the last round of most (but not all, to keep it entertaining!) I worked a purl round before switching to the brown to add some texture. The skeins of tapestry wool were short- just 8-10 yards each. I kept the bits leftover from the stripes and used them to make the pom pom.
